I’ve always loved to draw and paint but because I never really shared my art with others I always assumed I wans’t any good.

A few years ago I found some acryllic paint laying around after a DIY project, so I thought I might as well use it for something, so I painted a black starry artwork that I later cut up and used for symbolic tarot-style cards and channelled readings on YouTube.

In 2025 I started in an art class and I was drawn to watercolor and the freedom of how it can flow in any direction. I also started painting more at home.

I realised how much I emotion I can express through colors and shapes and how calming it is to let the brush dance across the paper. With almost no understanding of color theory I have to let my intuition and eyes guide me “what color do I like to use now?” or “where do I want the brush to press onto the paper now?” – focusing a lot on the moment and a playful approach.

I find myself very drawn to nature and flowers – as I do with photography as well – and I will either take a photo or just write a mental note to myself about the colors I see. I am still learning about color theory and how to blend colors into the colors I want.

In Spring of 2026 I started going to paint class every week and felt very seen by the teachers – this was the first time someone in real life had seen my artwork and given me any positive feedback on it. The positive aknowledgement motivated me even more and also hearing the teachers say that “every person has their own expression”. I see that now and I see how much my love for nature and natural movements show up in my pieces. I don’t like when things look to “perfect”.

Right now I am purely painting because I love it but I am also trying to experiment, find my style and hone my skills. The plan is to paint on an even bigger piece of paper (poster size) so I can hang my art in my home.
